Senate Bill 1389, authored by Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson, clarifies the exemption for certain annuity contracts (including FIAs) and insurance policies from Federal regulation under the Securities Act of 1933. If passed, this law would ensure that consumers can continue to access and enjoy the benefits - including the protection and safety - of Fixed Indexed Annuities.
